[lang_en]

University Oxford Brookes University (UK)
Course Objectives This course combines some of the generality of the computing course with modules concerned with the development of information systems. An information system is a set of people, data, procedures, hardware and software that work together to achieve the common goal of information management. Information management includes the tasks of gathering data; processing the data into reliable, accurate, and usable information; and distributing the information in a timely fashion for use in decision making, problem solving, and control. Information systems exist within organisations in commerce, industry and the public sector. Therefore, while it is primarily a computing discipline, it involves an understanding of organisations, management, information and the information needs of organizations.
